TAMARIND

Tanmaren

The name comes from Arabic which means Indian Date. It has a woody shell which you can crack open to discover little pulpy pods. The pulp is sweet and sour and used in cooking as well as for drinks, syrups and as a snack food when doused in sugar. It is high in B vitamins and used in traditional medicine to treat constipation.
