Sugar Cane Is one of the most widespread crops in the world and is grown in over 100 countries. It needs plenty of sunshine and water which is what you get here. Mills extract raw sugar from the cane which is then refined to produce white sugar, brown sugar or molasses. Local Takamaka rum is made from the distillation of sugar cane.
